Those of you that follow us on twitter may have noticed a lot of back and forth regarding the terms “short” and ” long” swings. What a lot of coaches would term a “short” swing is generally a pushing swing that creates bat speed very late and out in front of the hitter and a “long” swing, which most high level hitters do in fact have, creates bat speed throughout the swing and keeps the player on plane with the pitch for an extended period of time. This topic turned into my podcast at www.youthbaseballtalk.com, I made a video to go along with it and decided to share it with our EliteBaseball.TV subscribers.
