The success in Anthony Rizzo this season reminded me of a project we did on him right after one of his most difficult times as a Cub. Look at the breakdown of what Rizzo was trying to do to make an adjustment and what he was really doing. Remember, as a hitting coach you don’t have to give the hitter every detail. As an instructor, you need to know it, but personalities and processing power will dictate how much info to give each hitter. Whether on purpose or not, look at how one cue for Rizzo leads to a much more important adjustment in his swing.
